Hessequa Municipality Accountant Hiring Requirements:-

Requirements: A relevant three year tertiary qualification, preferably a National Diploma or BCom with financial accounting as a major subject • Code B drivers license • Able to communicate in two of the official languages of the Western Cape • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Knowledge of SOLAR and Payday, will be advantageous • Two to five years’ relevant experience.

Duties: Manage accounting procedures through verification, reporting, processing and reconciliation with the salary budget • Effective record keeping and data management procedures to facilitate the acquisition of information • Supervision • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and Council policies • Accurate and timely payment of salaries, wages and claims to employees and councilors • Administrative tasks • Compile reports which comply with applicable legislation and treasury guidelines • Balancing and reconciling of the general ledger with salaries and third-party claims.
